An analogue waveshaper in 8 HP that computes a power function instead of relying on the curves of transistors or diodes.

Key features

• The exponent knob bends straight waveform segments into hollow-sounding concave or driven-sounding convex curves, from 10 through 1 at the centre, where the signal passes unchanged, to 0.1
• The scale knob sets how deep the bending goes, and the symmetry knob adds an offset for asymmetric shaping
• The direct/hyper switch, also flipped by a gate, turns the exponent negative for hyperbolic and much louder waveforms
• A precision clipper with independent negative and positive levels and a big LED showing which boundary is reached; with the absolute value switch, a half or full wave rectifier, or an octave-up effect
• Two summed inputs, an inverted output and a polarity gate output
• Every parameter under voltage control, from DC to supersonic rates
