Programmable Spectral Processor Model 296t

A sixteen-band spectral processor after the Buchla 296, part of the Buchla & Tiptop Audio 200t series, made under licence from Buchla.

Key features

• Sixteen bandpass filters, labelled 0 to F, each with an attenuator slider, its own audio output, an envelope follower output and a local program input
• Signals enter the even, odd or all bands
• Attenuated and programmed outputs as even, odd and all; comb filter outputs give the even and odd bands unattenuated
• Program control sweeps through the bands and sets their width under voltage control
• Spectrum transfer applies the even bands' envelopes to the odd bands or the reverse, with pre-emphasis, for vocoding
