Step 8

A sequential tracking/sampling register in 16 HP: an analogue 1-to-8 switch feeds eight high-stability track-and-hold or high-speed sample-and-hold stages.

Key features

• Each stage has an analogue output, an attenuation slider carrying an LED, and a gate output with its own LED
• A built-in 8-step counter drives the switch, cycling or shifting the stages, with step, pause, reset and reverse inputs, a step button and a step trigger output
• A stage input addresses the register directly by control voltage
• Solo mutes the inactive stages, and a scanning output reads across them
• For sequencer, addressed voltage source or waveshaper use
• Precise enough for pitch CV, with low noise, distortion and droop
