Route 4

A latching signal router in 8 HP, made of two complementary sections: a 4-to-1 router at the top and a 1-to-4 router at the bottom.

Key features

• Top section: any of its four signal inputs can be mixed into its output, chosen by gate or trigger control inputs
• Bottom section: a single input, normalled from the top section, sent to up to four outputs
• On each section, a gate/latch switch (a gate enables a channel while it is high, a trigger in latch mode toggles it) and a solo/multi switch that makes the channels exclusive or not
• Unused routing inputs carry a precision +1 V, so pitch sequences can be transposed by gates or triggers
• Signal paths suited to control voltages, audio and gates alike, and ten LEDs showing the state of both routers
