Description
The LxD, Low Strike Duo, is a dual-response, two-channel, direct-coupled low pass gate that uses vactrols to control the amplitude and the frequency spectrum of an input signal at the same time. It is, in essence, a VCFA (Voltage Controlled Filter Amplifier).
Key features
- Unlike the Optomix, two different filter responses
- Channel 1: 12 dB/octave, mildly resonant
- Channel 2: 6 dB/octave, non-resonant
- Channel 1's output normalled to channel 2's input puts them in series, like the VCF into VCA arrangement made popular by many monosynths of the 1970s
