Fold 6

A six-stage hybrid series/parallel wavefolder in 4 HP. Folding a signal over itself adds harmonics, and a main (series) output beside an alternate (parallel) output gives one module the tones of both diode folder families.

Key features

• An integrated symmetrical soft clipper holds the outputs to about 10 V peak to peak, making overdriven sounds at high fold ratios easy
• The shape control drives the clipping stage until the folded waves turn into pulses
• Two signal inputs mix audio sources or add a DC voltage for asymmetric folding; symmetry has its own knob
• Fold and shape both take control voltages
• Suits feedback patching, CV folding and frequency multiplication
